The Latinx Faculty and Staff Association proudly announces the Colibri Award recipient for the 2024-2025 school year.
W. John (“J”) Mullineaux
Executive Director
Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation
J Mullineaux is a deeply committed advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles, ensuring that every SRJC student, program, and initiative has equitable access to the Foundation’s scholarships, grants, and financial support opportunities. His dedication extends well beyond formal responsibilities — one can find J Mullineaux just as present at a student-led event or graduation ceremony as at a formal gala, reflecting his genuine investment in the full spectrum of the college community.
His unwavering support for students, faculty, and staff of color has had a lasting and meaningful impact. J Mullineaux has consistently supported the Latinx Faculty and Staff Association (LFSA), securing Foundation funding for several of the Association’s key events and initiatives. Through his leadership, the college has sharpened its focus on directing resources toward students who have historically been at the margins of access and opportunity at SRJC.
Most notably, J Mullineaux has not only expanded scholarship and financial aid opportunities but has also intentionally created pathways for students to engage in institutional decision-making, ensuring their voices help shape the college’s future. Moreover, he has allocated funding specifically to support immigration filling fees for SRJC undocumented students. This inclusive approach has made the Foundation’s work more responsive, more representative, and ultimately, more effective.
With over 40 years of philanthropic leadership experience in fundraising, gift planning, and charitable advising, J Mullineaux brought his wealth of expertise to SRJC when he became Executive Director of the Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation in January 2020. His leadership continues to strengthen the college’s commitment to equity, student success, and community engagement.
